Holiday Gift-Giving...

After watching our favorite Little Bear winter solstice video and tucking the kids into bed, I'm busy prepping for the days of kids-home-from-school, gift-wrapping, and other winter fun! :)

Before I take a holiday blog-break, here's a few of my gift-giving creations:

Vintage glass-glitter and sequins fill this shaker-box from Tattered Angels.  The back is Glammed up with Dirty Martini, and the crepe paper is stamped with HS TA stamps and shimmered with Santa Baby.  Stick this ornament on a container of sweets and it's ready to give away! :)

Next up, a little ornament-gift, featuring vintage crepe and a cool vintage heart-doily stamp I found while antiquing last week!

Shimmered up the entire thing with Marshmallow mist and enjoyed looking at it
before giving it away. :)

Happy Holidays...I'll be back next week after lots of family-fun togetherness time:

Before December is Gone With The Wind...

I don't know about you, but December is flying by at lightspeed!
So...before this month is "Gone With The Wind", you'd better get yourself over to Midnight Rooster and pick up December's gorgeous kit, Scarlett and Rhett.

Here's my rest of my projects:

I was feelin' super freestyle with this one! :)

Lots of messy thread, ink, crumpling, and distressing here.

Wanted a mix of unthreaded, half-threaded, and fully-threaded buttons on this one, to symbolize the chaos that is sometimes life...is that too weird?! :)

Speaking of marriage, I would marry these fabrips ANY day, heh.  Love how they are easy to crumple and adhere at the same time.

And now, my fave layout of this month:

This month's fabric goes fabulously with the MME paper.

Love this cool black trim!

Made these bows with paper strips and Santa Baby glimmer mist...upon request, a tutorial will be upcoming for these bows.  :)

Lastly, I spritzed the handmade burlap flower with some shimmer, and hot-glued it to a clip for a quick, easy barrette for my daughter.  We're always looking for neutral hair accessories for her to wear with her school uniform...this awesome embellishment was perfect:

Ok, for the life of me I cannot get correct random.org image saved and displayed, but my winner was comment #9--Michelle Costa, who said:

Congratulations, Michelle!  Please email me your info so you can receive your mini-kit prize.

Onto the layouts! :-)

Misted this one up with red and blue...love how versatile these rub-ons and Crate playing-card paper are.

Secondly, a treasured vintage photo of my mom as a child:
Lovin' these Glitz and Lily Bee papers, plus the SC fabrips!

Seriously, how cute is she?!  :)

Peek-a-boo butterflies and messy/loose button-thread.

Happy Monday!

Hambly Winner, whoo hoo!

So excited to have won one of the Hambly prize packs over at the Two Peas Hambly challenge!

Here's my layout:

Using the Hambly label sheet as a mask, I had some misting-fun,
and layered my fave circle overlay on top.

I punched some butterflies out of the overlay circles:

Thanks again, Hambly and Two Peas!

Hambly Fun...

It's no secret that Hambly is one of my long-time loves.
Participating in the latest 2Peas Hambly challenge reminded me of some older stash-based Hambly projects I created but never posted, so I thought I'd share!

I'll be so sad when I finally run out of this classic Hambly flourished circle collection:

And I'll never get sick of these classic birdcages and labels:

Another older project I created were these storage containers for my studio-corner:

They still make me happy whenever I use them, especially the thrifted white "make art" cup. :-)

Last up, a quite-old layout using older Hambly and some Kawaii-style apple stickers:

P.S. Notice the little punched "bite" marks on the photo edges, heh?  Still makes me laugh...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I'll be back later in the week with the full Midnight Rooster reveal and of COURSE the monthly giveaway!

Stash-Supplies Favorites Layout...

It's that time of year again...the end of the year when I look at my ever-growing stash of scrapbook supplies and resolve yet AGAIN to use it up so I can have room to buy all the new CHA goodies that will debut in January!
This weekend, while packing for a crop with friends, I challenged myself to pack my most beloved older stash products and finally make something I love with them.  :-)

Here's one project I completed, using stash items like an old Sass bunny, years-old pink paper, 2 of my fave older alphas from OA and AC, a random KI Memories clear accent word, and some vintage trims and buttons.

Also, I might be kind of obsessed with my Tattered Rose crackle paint, heh:

It felt great to use up all these oldies-but-goodies on a project...I'd love to hear/see what YOU'VE been making with your stash lately!

My Mind's Eye...

I was able to play along with the My Mind's Eye blog challenge last week, the theme being "Lessons Learned", along with this sketch:

Using a mix of old-and-new MME stash, here's what I came up with:
I used the "lost and found" leftover paper strip as part of my title for this "self-portrait" style layout.

Still LOVE these Tres Jolie papers so much...sprayed them with some great shimmer after making the flowers with them.

Love this So Sophie die-cut paper...twisted the sketch up a bit by splitting the die-cut paper and moving the photo-cluster part down on the page.

This MME polka-dot paper and muted floral paper (for the butterflies) are some of my past MME faves...

Finished off the layout with these shimmery mini-flowers and some twine.

Thanks for the great theme and sketch, MME!  :)

CONGRATS, Liz...don't forget to email your address to me so your prize can be on its way to your door!

And thanks to everyone who left comments with their memories...I really loved reading them and thinking of more of my own...it really seems it's so often the simple things that stay with us, doesn't it?  Good stuff.

I'll leave you with a simple, nostalgic layout of my sweet mom as a child.  This layout is the first in a continuous gift-album that I gave to her for her birthday.  I hope to fill it with many of her favorite childhood memories! :)
