BoBunny Design Team December Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the BoBunny December Blog Hop!

Today, we are hopping along, starting & ending at the BoBunny blog.  There, you'll see a question listed next to each designer's name.  As you hop through to each blog, collect the answer to each question, and then head back to the BoBunny blog to enter the answers into a Rafflecopter giveaway, for a chance at a great prize package worth $50!

The giveaway will be open until December 23 at 12:00 AM MST.

If you didn't start at the beginning, here are the links in order:

Keri Babbitt (you are here!)

This month, we are getting to know a little more about 6 designers.  Each designer will be sharing about themselves and their scrapping style, along with an Elf Magic project, just in time for the holidays!

I'm Keri Babbitt, a mom-of-two daughters, who both love crafting too!  Together, we love to create travel scrapbooks, canvases, and handmade gifts for others.  We also love vintage & thrift shopping together.  My scrapping style is often vintage-based, but with the clean lines of a more modern style.  I love that BoBunny products are versatile enough to satisfy both my love of vintage and my love of modern.

The theme for this month's blog hop is Elf Magic.  It's such a festive, adorable collection for my little ones!  I created a "letters to santa" mailbox for my kids to use throughout the holidays:

The pattern was a bunch of trial-and-error, LOL, but it came together so well when completed with some metal and chipboard embellishments.

After "mailing" their letters, my kids can open the back flap of the mailbox to take the letters out.

This was such a fun project, and believe me, it's gotten a LOT of use throughout the month, as the kids send holiday poems, jokes, and all sorts of correspondence to each other. Cute!

What did my 8-year-old daughter ask for as her #1 gift request from Santa?  A Lalaloopsy Haley Galaxy doll.

Thanks so much for joining in on all the Elf Magic fun!
You're next stop is ... Lisa Gregory.

Expanding Your Options December - Frog Dog Studio

Happy December to one and all...I hope this month brings you lots of festive fun in one form or another!

I'm up today at Frog Dog Studio with a video tutorial HERE.
And here is a look at the project featured in the video - a fun holiday canvas with some gorgeous vintage ephemera:

I used lots of collage-layering, and tons of glitz, glam, and glitter on this decor piece.

Happy Holidays and Happy Crafting!

Turkey Time with BoBunny...

As Thanksgiving approaches, here in the USA, my kids and I are gearing up for fun Fall crafts!
So far this week, we are enjoying our Thank You Turkey:

The feathers are in a pumpkin jar for now, and as we go about our days, we jot down a Thankful Thought or two on the back of a feather, and add it to the turkey.

During our Thanksgiving Feast, we'll enjoy reading the feathers to each other & discussing what we are grateful for this year.

Also this month at BoBunny, I shared a Fall Traditions layout.  Yes, it's another layout about our annual Pumpkin Patch outing *smiles*

I love how the bold colors of the Autumn Song collection pop on the Chiffon cardstock.
Hints of warm-toned jewels and bronze brads complete my Autumnal palette:

Aw, I adore these two grateful for them.  Now bring on the feast! :)

November @ Frog Dog Studio

Hello and Happy November to you and yours, even though it's halfway through already! :)

Today at Frog Dog Studio, I am up with a video tutorial featuring the amazing Starburst spray inks from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

You can see my technique video HERE, and here are the projects I created with the November main kit and papercrafting add-on.

Aw, my little ones are so LITTLE in this gorgous Fall photo!  Love the colors of this BoBunny Autumn Song collection, and loved using mixed media techniques with spray ink, glitter, and embossing powder on this layout.

Another Autumnal layout here, at our favorite pumpkin patch, love the running in the photo:

The shimmer you get with these sprays is phenomenal, but doesn't always show up well online.
Here's a better angle so you can take in all the shimmery goodness:

I also created a Fall banner for our home:

The Maya Road canvas stars took the spray ink so well, and with some diecut leaves and words from the BoBunny paper pad, this banner was a breeze to put together.

With the November Main kit, I had such fun coloring Catherine Scanlon's Art Journal pages - art therapy, for sure, and made me feel like a kid again, coloring to my heart's content.

Watercolors + glaze pens, sigh, just a joy to create with.

Utilizing all the finishes from the different art mediums in the kit, you get such interest and dimension to each page.

Happy Friday to you, and hope that this weekend brings some relaxing art-time in one form or another.

Yes, I'm still alive, though you wouldn't know it from my poor, sad, neglected blog these days, lol.

I'm happy to be guesting this month over at the Scrap Africa challenge blog!
Here is the page I created with their fun sketch:

Lots of washi goodness, metallic finishes, and vintage touches here.

Using up my letter stash & some new PLS goodies on this one!

Thanks so much to Denise & Evgenia at Scrap Africa, for inviting me to join in the fun!

Flea Market Simplicity...

I admit it, I've definitely been stalking online shops for my biggest CHA love...the new Crate Paper collections.  The gold-edged photo overlays have been calling my name ever since I saw sneak peeks, so I ordered two packages!

Here is a simple-style layout using the new Flea Market collection.  It's all about the words+story here, topped off with the perfect accents from Crate:

Love the airy look of the vellum, and that ombre paper is a new fave...I want them to release it in EVERY color!

The gold-trimmed, heart-bokeh frame was perfect for the photo of my little one giving her Daddy a smooch.

She IS magical. :)

Make way for the August Kit reveal @ Frog Dog Studio!

This month at Frog Dog Studio, we've got two amazing kits to share with you!
Here's a look at the truly gorgeous mixed media kit:

I am in LOVE with everything about this kit...the wood embellishments are gorgeously handmade, and that ephemera sheet is my new favorite.

I created a sea-themed wall hanging with my kit:

After altering the white bag that the kit comes in, I decorated the front with a set of 6 ATC's.

I filled the inside of the bag with paper+photo groupings, and let the kids write favorite oceanside memories on the back of each one:

For my 2nd project, I created a series of ATC inside cellophane bags...that way I could add confetti & other fun little loose tidbits!

I'm telling you, the glitter paste in this kit is has so many uses & I love how it takes color & builds for layering.

This month, I also had the chance to play with Frog Dog's scrapbooking add-on kit.  It features gorgeous papers from Fabscraps, and some gorgeous chipboard, washi, and rhinestone trim.  Plus three different art mediums to get messy with!

Here are my layouts:

To check out all the amazing DT projects, head to the Frog Dog blog HERE.

I'll hope you'll join me later in the month for more details & tutorials about the mixed media techniques I used on all these fun projects!
