Love My Tapes Pt. 2...

Creating projects for my month as guest designer over at Love My Tapes was such fun...tapes are a versatile, cost-effective craft supply that I really enjoy using on all my crafty projects.

Here are the cards I created with Love My Tapes product:

I used the negative space from the "heart" title for THIS layout...and placed it over strips of the red-hearts tape for a fun dimensional title.

Up next, a "U Rock" card, for my just-turned-12-year-old.  'Cause she rocks. :)

The tapes against the black background gave a fun, bold "tween" look, I thought...and the center rosette was so easy to make with the fabric tape.

Products Used:

Black&White Dot
Teal Stripe
Fabric Pink Polka-Dot
Red Hearts

Once again, a big thanks to Tina & the Love My Tapes team for letting me join in on the fun this month!

A Vintage Goodbye...

As my year designing for Vintage Street Market comes to an end, this is my last project post featuring their lovely & unique product as a DT member.
Working with their beautiful papers, accents, crafty staples, tapes, and one-of-a-kind vintage items has been a true joy for me.  Many thanks to Michelle & my fellow designers, who've been an inspiring pleasure to work with!

Here are my final projects...I made them for Valentine's Day, but they are general enough to work as gifts for any loved oned at any time:

Hooray for Love...or a birthday or other occasion.  Black accents with tape, doily, seam binding, and polka dots.

Lastly, a heart-pocket, that I filled with candy and hung on my daughters' doorknob on Valentine's Day:

I sewed red foil onto to the back to make the pocket, with crepe paper in between...and I just can't get enough of that May Arts lace+chevron trim.

February Reveal at Elle's Studio...

It's so exciting to be sharing my full layouts for the February reveal over at Elle's Studio...using the new collections, You and Me, and Day to Day.

Great stamps, love the large 3" circles, and LOVE this kraft/heart paper!

Lots of colors on this fun custom-stamped my little Minecrafters, lol.

And last, for Valentine's Day:

This chalkboard paper is so it accented with white, silver, & red here.

Don't forget to check out Elle's Studio blog for more fun inspiration, sketch challenges, Project Life, and a great sale!

You Know I Love My Tapes...

Being the washi-tape-lover that I am, I was thrilled to be asked to guest-design this month for Love My Tapes!

They sell all sorts of awesome tapes, including fabric & lace ones, as well as the classic washi tape.
Here are my first two projects for the month:

I used tape on my title, as background strips, and to frame the photo-mat...I really love how easy and versatile tapes are.

My next layout:

I went with a combination of tapes, paper strips, and punched-borders here, on the diagonal.
The hearts were really easy to cut out, first backing the teal tape with thin paper, then punching out the hearts with a mini-punch.

Thanks so much to Love My Tapes for letting me join in all the the tape-fun this month.
For more close-ups & details, I'd love it if you hopped over to the Love My Tapes blog & left a comment there if you feel so inclined. :) :)

These are the specific tapes I used:
Black&White Dot
Teal Stripe
Wood Grain
Fabric Pink Polka-Dot

Mixed Media fix...

Yep, ever since seeing all the new & wonderful art medium booths at CHA, I've been in desperate need of a mixed-media fix.
So this week, I finally busted out some paints, inks, & a stencil and got a bit messy.
With these bitter-cold wintery days, I wanted to create something super-Kawaii-happy-&-bright:

No measuring, planning, or thinking on this one...just ripping, painting, having fun.
I recently saw someone use a paper straw on their layout, and loved the idea, so I used two the look of paper-rolls on layouts, but this is a much easier version!
(For the life of me, I cannot find the paper-straw layout I, ladies, if you remember who made that layout...PLEASE let me know, so I can credit that designer). :)

Hope this layout is a bright spot in your day, whether it be freezing cold, sizzling hot, or somewhere in between!
