Happy Holidays with BoBunny

This time of year is always my favorite for festive decor - and this being our first year in our farmhouse makes it all the more fun!  To add to our new holiday home, I created a mini one with BoBunny goodies:

Isn't that flourish chipboard from our Leaky Shed team-up just perfect for a rooftop?  I sprayed the chipboard with gold glimmer spray (I've already gone through one whole bottle, I can't get enough, lol!), and embellished it with jewels.

The gold star paper is called Jack Frost, from the Candy Cane Lane collection, and the chipboard from the same collection finishes off the simple front of my house.

I detailed the house sides with paper from the Altitude collection, topped with more gold Leaky Shed chipboard.  And now for the finishing touch, the doily roof!

I halved the doilies, and curled them slightly with a pencil before gluing them on to my removable roof piece.  The inside of the house is filled with mini candy canes, and is a charming little addition to my holiday tabletop.

I hope you enjoy this Christmas creation, and wish you and yours Happy Holidays and a Merry New Year!  :)

Gift-Giving, Victorian style with BoBunny

November is the month my gift-giving excitement for the holidays kicks in.  This year, my daughter is finally getting the Victorian atomizer/beauty set she's always wanted, so I'm wrapping it up in vintage style!

Using the Rose Cafe collection from BoBunny, I created a gift box, a gift topper, and a tag - all with that romantic Victorian feel.

Here's a couple close-ups of the gift box for the perfume atomizer.  I cut up the Rose Cafe Post paper, distressing each postcard/envelope edge, and then decoupaging all the pieces onto the gift box, using gold glimmer spray to gild the surface.

The box is wrapped up with flowers and lace - and can be used for as a jewelry holder on my daughter's vanity after she opens the gift.  Love double-duty wrapping!

For the wrapped gift topper, I sprayed the doilies quite heavily with gold glimmer spray, with a hint of bronze and frost spray here and there.  I made sure to let the spray pool deeply in the nooks and crannies of the doilies, without blotting, to dry.

Rather than ribbon, I used the film strip to cut a bow for the top.  I love it so much that I think I'm going to save the entire layered piece and make it into a wall hanging after Christmas. :)

Happy gift-giving season to you and yours - I encourage you to get a little crafty with your holiday wrapping this year!

CREATE Magazine Feature.

Happy November everyone!

This month, at CREATE magazine, the featured manufacturer is, you guessed it, BoBunny!
Each designer had the chance to work with a sketch - my project is a two-pager, using a sketch created by the talented Allison Davis.

I love the mix of large and small photo options here, and my favorite part is the layered title cluster.

This issue is FILLED with BoBunny gorgeousness from front-to-back, so make sure to check out the entire free issue here:

Souvenir Mini Album with BoBunny

Do you have a vacation spot or town that you repeatedly visit?  Somewhere to see family, friends, or just relax and vacation in a familiar place?  For us, it's Boise, to visit family and have a generally fabulous time.

Since we visit pretty frequently, I figured it was time to create a mini-album, to house all our favorite photos and keepsakes in one location.  I used the new BoBunny Souvenir collection and some Misc Me supplies to create a mini album to document all our fun:

I layered the cover page with mini wood accents, brads, diecuts, and washi tape.

For the filler pages, I used a variety of patterned paper in different sizes, envelopes, and Misc Me 6x8" page protectors.  I love the eclectic looks this gives to the mini.

The smaller envelopes can be used for receipts or instax photos.  I included a large envelope for more keepsakes & ephemera at the back of the album.

Technique:  Fill a page protector with embellishments, glitter, and sequins, and seal it up with stitching or washi tape.  This is a favorite mini-album technique that I just love no matter how many times I do it.

Buttons and border stickers are a quick accent to any pocket page, and I LOVE the transparent layering look that I can get with the new film strips from BoBunny.

I included several favorite photos throughout the album, with coordinating journaling cards in an envelope.  This way, the kids can jot down their thoughts and memories as they look through the book, and include this ongoing journaling inside the envelope pocket.  The kids love doing this, and I love how much meaning it adds to the album - love to hear them giggling and reminiscing as they write their little notes to add to the book.

Mixed Media with BoBunny

The new stencils and art mediums from BoBunny are so much fun to play with.  For this home decor project, I started with an 8.5x11" base, and just began experimenting with layers and colors.  Here's what I came up with:

I love the mix of soft and bright color options. And the "stickability" of the stencils gives such crisp and fine details.  After inking over the lace stencils with the blueberry ink pad and letting it fully dry, I removed the stencils and sprayed the white space with Tutu and Gold glimmer sprays.

I added a bit of text stenciling in black, and then layered washi tape, letters, and jewels over the top of the frame glass for added dimension.

Hope you enjoy this bold decor idea, and that you take some time be creative in a new way!

I am so excited to join in with a blog hop pairing two gorgeous companies - Pretty Little Studio and Pinkfresh Studio!  Pinkfresh Studio is known for their bright, bold, unique embellishments. And mixing them up with vintage-inspired paper products from Pretty Little Studio is a beautiful match.

Designers from both companies are joining in on this two-day blog hop, to share some amazing projects with you.  Make sure to visit and comment on each designer and company blog on the list to be entered into the giveaways.  A winner will be chosen each day, and will receive a $30 prize package from Pinkfresh Studio, and a $30 gift certificate from Pretty Little Studio.  Winners will be announced on 9/15/2014.

Onto the projects!  First, I created a butterfly-inspired card:

The orange/gold/mint washi tape from Pinkfresh is a lovely match for the orange/gold/mint palette of the new Marigold collection from Pretty Little Studio.

Even the little rim around the brad sticker from Pinkfresh perfectly coordinates with the gold Pretty Little Studio labels.  It's like they're from the same collection, I love that!

Next up is a back-to-school layout:

Here's another example of two perfectly-coordinated products: the PLS gold alpha and the PFS gold/mint alpha!  I love layering with papers and vellums from Pretty Little Studio, and that little owl is the perfect topper for this first-day pic.

Thanks for joining in on my stop along the hop!  Up next is the super-talented and sweet  Ashley Horton.

I'm pleased to be joining in on the fun & prizes as we hop along with Pretty Little Studio & The Twinery!

If you started hopping at the beginning, you should be arriving from Denise Hahn's blog.

For my gift project, I paired the lovely Marigold collection with gorgeous coordinating colors from The Twinery.

The colors were perfect for this simple neighbor gift of apricot nectar and preserves.  Isn't that little fawn the cutest?  I love how it looks layered over the vellum.  My kids even got to join in on the project, and had fun covering one jar with butterfly stickers.

I framed the card sentiment with french knots using The Twinery it!

Thanks so much for joining us, and I hope you'll hop along through all the blogs for more creative inspiration, as well as a chance for great prizes.

The next stop is:  Jeanne Jachna

My project for today uses a gorgeous mug album from Genuinely Jane Studios, along with my collection of Frog Dog kits.

I separated the wooden album, & painted each mug with a whitewash effect, using blue Silks paint & gesso.

The awesome tissue paper & pleated paper strips were the perfect background.  I mounted them onto a 12x12" canvas, then added the gold-embossed mugs.

I just love the way the Genuinely Jane wood pieces take the paint & embossing powder!  The painted areas have a gorgeous, chalky finish, & the embossed sections are glossy & catch the light so beautiful.  Can't wait to hang this canvas in my kitchen!

Enjoy the hop, thanks so much for stopping by!
